In 23 years since the launch of the first display ad for AT&T by HotWired, the industry of online targeted advertising has been tremendous growth and success. By 2017, display ad revenue is expected to reach $50 billion. Other forms of online targeted advertising (search and mobile) are expected to increase in revenue as well.
